Uniquely U Designs was born from several years of transition in my life. After quiting my job as a “road warrior” technology consultant, I started a new career as a real estate agent while “working” on having a family. Near the end of my first pregnancy I began doing less agent work in preparation for maternity leave, while picking up some side design work for the broker I was affliated with.

After the birth of our son, I was soon itching to return to some type of work, but was torn about leaving my little bundle of joy for a full-time job. As I thought about what I had really enjoyed doing in the past year, I found that my focus quickly came to the design work. Art had been a love of mine as a child, long forgotten in my adult years. I approached my broker and we agreed that I would continue to do his design work on a part-time basis and work from home.

Since then I have gone onto design for many other clients, family and friends. I enjoy all of my projects and the freedom it gives me to both be at home with my children, while providing them a role-model of working mom.
